Ange Postecoglou wouldn’t be drawn into speculation about any player Celtic have been linked with ahead of the January window, but the Celtic manager made it clear the process to recruit is very much under way.

Speaking ahead of the St Johnstone game this weekend, the Hoops boss has told Celtic fans that the January window will be less hectic after a summer of major upheaval.

Ange also revealed he’s looking closely at the personalities of the players he’s scouting.

It’s not just good enough to be talented, but you need the right attitude and demeanour if you want into this Celtic side.

Postecoglou has continually banged the drum about getting the right people into the club to make the difference.

“We are looking to strengthen the squad in January and we will,” the manager told CelticTV.

“We have started that process but the difference is we are in no rush.

“Whatever business we do in January, it won’t be as chaotic as it was in the last window.

“But a hugely important part of bringing players here is understanding their mentality and whether they can cope.

“I was confident with someone like Kyogo. I knew him really well from Japanese football. I knew his background and I asked enough people about him as a personality, to know he would cope well.

“That is part of the process, particularly when you are talking about bringing in people in January when they are going to have to hit the ground running.

“Those are the things we will be looking into, not just their playing ability but also their personality.”

Celtic have the makings of a competitive squad, Ange is slowly getting them to where he wants to be. But we will most definitely need reinforcements in the coming months.

If we are to challenge this season and sustain a credible title fight, we must make sure our ducks are in a row in early January.
