Celtic secured the signatures of Carter-Vickers and Jota after a successful season with the club. Both players were pivotal in Celtic’s domestic double, which included the League.

The duo both signed four-year deals, with the club having the option to trigger an extra year in Jota’s contract.

It’s a brilliant piece of business from the club, leaving all fans over the moon with the transfer business so far this window.

Ange Postecoglou expressed his delight with the signings, talking to Celtic TV, the boss said;

“With Cameron and Jota they had such fantastic years last year. They’re great footballers with a lot of potential to improve but also great people and that’s what we want to build our football club around.

“We are very happy that we’ve got them in permanently and I know that they are as well. They want to be part of this and what we’re creating and it’s great to have them involved.”

Carter-Vickers and Jota want to be at Celtic.

There is no doubting that other teams were interested in the Celtic duo, signing for Celtic shows that the players want to be here. Signing long-term deals also show they don’t intend to use the club as a stepping stone, preparing to spend a good few years in Scotland.

If the players didn’t want to be at Celtic, no deal would’ve been struck. All parties were keen for the business to go through, and it has.

Celtic fans can now breathe a sigh of relief with two of the biggest signings completed.

  1. I have to be honest and say while I was very confident that we’d get CCV, I had serious doubts that we’d land Jota.
    But I am delighted that we have both.
    I am also quite disappointed in Jullien though. Not once have we read the words we want to hear from every Celtic player!
    “I want to be here and am ready to fight for my place”.
    He has been out for a very long time! He should be knuckling down and fighting for his place! On form he was without question the best central defender in Scotland.
    But expecting a start every week before he earns it? I don’t care who you are, but this is a no-no!
    Come on Chris! Get your sleeves up and give Ange the headache he longs for!
    Don’t be like Barkas and blame everyone except yourself!

    • He had a meeting previous to this statement with his agent. I’m sure that’s where the comment came from” I want to be here and fight for my place”.
      Think how bad he’d look if he came out with a toy thrown out the pram statement to other teams. I believe his statement was tactical. Just saying!! HH
