Ange Postecoglou has lavished praise on Celtic’s assistant manager, John Kennedy, amidst interest from Hearts in the Scotsman.
The 39-year-old is reportedly being considered for the top job at Tynecastle and Postecoglou has conceded that this news is hardly surprising.
The Australian also highlighted Kennedy’s pivotal role at the Hoops, as quoted by Glasgow Live:
“John plays a vital role. I give him a lot of responsibility. He’s got a lot of experience at this football club, part of a lot of success.
“That isn’t by accident. It’s not surprising people are looking at him. And when the time is right he will make an outstanding manager.”

The key phrase from Postecoglou here pertains to timing. For now, the Australian is keen to retain Kennedy in Glasgow, where he clearly excels in his current role.
However, it’s only natural that potential suitors will express interest, hence the attention from Hearts.
Despite this, Ange is evidently eager to keep Kennedy at Celtic, and the praise he has bestowed upon him is unparalleled.
This commendation is all the more remarkable considering that the pair had not even met two years ago.
