ANGE POSTECOGLOU has responded to Liel Abada’s cryptic comments claiming that were things ongoing behind the scenes that the fans didn’t know about, but he didn’t wish to go into further detail.

5th March 2023; St Mirren Park, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, Scottish Premiership Football, St Mirren versus Celtic; Liel Abada of Celtic celebrates towards the Celtic fans after the match

The Celtic boss insists that Abada is in a “great space” featuring in every league match this season, despite most of these coming from off the bench.

He has made a great impact in games, with his second-half performance against St Mirren earning him a rare start, but admittedly he failed to impress.

Having a big squad with multiple players for each position is essential for Celtic as the boss points out. With Forrest’s injury, and Maeda likely to miss the match, Liel Abada will be needed for Celtic’s trip to Hearts on Saturday.

As quoted by the Glasgow Times, Ange Postecoglou responded to Liel Abada’s comments, saying:

Hes fine mate. I just go with how they are playing and Liel is in a great space right now. Hes done very well for us and he can still improve. Im not worried about him.

They all have to be really strong across the year. All of the wingers have all played a part and they have all contributed to whatever combination has started or come on, which is great for us.

We will need them at the moment. Some people think its a bit of a luxury to have all of these guys and they have all been fit for a while but it shows it can change quickly.

James Forrest is out and Daizen Maeda is a doubt for the weekend, so you see why we need plenty of cover.

Liel Abada is at a crucial point in his development, he’s a long way off the finished product, but he’ll be eager to be a starter at a club. He’s got a big few months ahead of him if he wants to push into Celtic’s regular starting squad for next season.
