Ange Postecoglou rattled all the right people with his brilliant comments on how Celtic were denied a stonewall penalty at Ibrox.

We’ve witnessed an absolute meltdown this week from Ibrox cheerleaders and pundits attempting to throw every bit of cognitive dissonance they have at it – in the hope of the repeat their comments, they’ll somehow become true.

From downright misleading interpretations of the handball rule to just trying to belittle Celtic fans for rightfully pointing it out – there’s been a contrived effort to minimise what was a very poor decision by the officials.

Ange Postecoglou sat in front of journalists on Friday afternoon and was asked his opinion on the incident and he didn’t hold back.

The Celtic manager hit a home run when he told CelticTV:

“It’s confusing for players in the box to know what they can and can’t do. It seems that it changes depending on who’s in charge of the decision making process. There has been zero consistency in the decisions being made.

“over the course of the season, these things usually even themselves out, but when I look at the introduction of VAR and then decisions that have gone against us in particular, there’s no chance that that’s going to even up by the end of the year, because it’s just remarkable that at least three major decisions go against us.

“We can say that to comes down to interpretation, but I guarantee you that if that game finished 2-2 and it was Rangers that were denied that decision, the talk this week would be about how that was a title defining decision. Now, the fact that it wasn’t, because we still got a result, as we have in every other game, like Tynecastle and here at home when decisions have gone against us, doesn’t mean we should ignore it. It need to be highlighted, and it needs clarification.

“To go back to your original question, it’s a penalty. Before we introduced VAR it was a penalty. There were only two saves made in the game, one by Joe and one by Connor.”

Ange usually takes the high road and pundits were waiting for him to raise a smile and just get on with things. Instead, he hit the heart of the issue and what’s it’s done has been tremendous viewing.

We have Ibrox cheerleaders in meltdown. Kris Boyd is so worked up he blasted Celtic ‘cheerleaders’. If that doesn’t break the irony scale then I don’t know what will.

The gibbering Sky Sports pundit seemed to be spewing after Ange’s comments and blasted the Celtic manager for daring to say his team should have got a penalty.

Be in no doubt, had the shoe been on the other foot – Kris would be telling anyone who would listen how much of a penalty it was. Instead, we’re seeing pundits like Kris attempt to take the argument away from the awful decision and focus on fan reaction being over the top.

“Had they actually lost to Rangers, we’d be talking about a full-scale meltdown.” Boyd wrote as cited by Football Scotland.

“Ange Postecoglou has even chipped in, claiming everyone would have been up in arms if the spot-kick incident had been at the other end of the pitch.

“Where has he been this past week, the moon? Because all I’ve heard and listened to is moans and groans about how wronged Celts were.

“Ange insists he’s only thinking of the teams in danger of being relegated because this could affect them down the line. Sure he is.

“Let’s get it right. This is just another attempt to keep the Celtic supporters riled into believing the world is against them.”

Kris is absolutely rattled, and you know why?! Because his team couldn’t beat Celtic during one of their worst performances of the season, even with a helping hand from VAR.

Not much has been said about the Ibrox club’s 88th minute capitulation against a Celtic side who were very poor on the day. Kyogo silenced Ibrox and Celtic got a point.

Kris is raging.
