Ado Onaiwu has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent times [RecordSport] – mainly because his old Yokohama Marino’s boss is the new Celtic manager.

The Japanese striker, 25, appears to be improving his game and he puts it down to Ange Postecoglou for believing in him along the way.

“I always knew if I kept playing well and scoring goals for Yokohama, I would get a chance with my national team. And I owe this to my manager Ange Postecoglou who has left the club this week.” The striker, quoted by RecordSport.

“I have enjoyed an excellent relationship with him, and he has been a huge influence in my career. I don’t mind admitting that when he first came to the club, I was confused with his training because it was of such high intensity.”

“But because of that, he improved my game immeasurably and you can see I got my rewards by playing against Serbia. I was able to speak to Mr Postecoglou before the match against Serbia; [and] thanked him for all his help and for helping me grow as a player. I will always be grateful for his guidance in my career.”

In his first start for Japan, the striker has bagged a six minute hat-trick and won man of the match.

If Ange is interested in bringing his former striker over to Glasgow, it has to be worth a look.

Ange has been credited with getting the best out of players and he will have to do that will a whole host of talent currently at the club. Bringing in a familiar player or two he knows could go a long way.

Rodgers famously brought in Scotty Sinclair who he had worked with before and we all know what aa masterstroke that ended up being.

Naturally, there will be players linked to the club because of Ange but are any of these moves truly viable? I’m sure we’ll find out sooner rather than later.
