CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN has slowly been getting up to speed after making his return to training a number of weeks ago.

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear in the past he’s not going to rush long term injured players back and make sure they’re 100% ready to go before they get into the first team squad.

The French defender has been out since December 2020 after his knee collided with the post clearing a ball off the line. Chris has had to go through surgery and rehab to get to where he is at the moment.

The Celtic manager has delivered an exciting update this week by claiming the defender is very close to a return and the bhoys will be looking to book in a bounce game to get some minutes in his legs shortly.

Postecoglou, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “We were always going to take our time with Chris.

“Getting a game for him would be good, but it’s a bit difficult with no reserve football.

“As he edges closer to a return, I am hoping we will have a few others in the same boat who need games and we can arrange some of those sort of bounce games.”

Celtic registered Christopher Jullien for the Europa League and he could play his part in the last couple of fixtures all going well.

Last month, many thought he would walk back into the team once fit but the player has serious competition to dislodge Starfelt and Carter-Vickers.
