Ange Postecoglou’s Instant Reaction to Hyeon-Gyu Signing
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is thrilled to have completed the signing of South Korean internationalist Hyeon-gyu Oh.
The 21-year-old joins the Scottish champions on a five-year deal and becomes Postecoglou’s fourth signing during this January window having already brought in Yuki Kobayashi, Alistair Johnston and Tomoki Iwata.

We are delighted to announce the signing of South Korean international Hyeongyu Oh, subject to international clearance.
He has joined the club from K-League side Suwon Samsung Bluewings and will be looking forward to getting started in Glasgow.
It is likely that striker Giorgos Giakoumakis will be on the move the other way as MLS side Atlanta look as though they are favourites to sign the Greek forward.
Ange Postecoglou has reflected on the deal which has seen him add another striker to his squad.
“He is a young, talented striker with great attributes and someone who is ready to take the next stage in his career – a player who is hungry, eager to develop and to achieve success.

“I have watched Oh for some time and he is the striker I really wanted as I think he will be a great fit in our squad.
“Really importantly, I know that he had his heart set on joining us too and that his own perseverance has been crucial in making this deal happen, so his determination to join Celtic has been very clear.
“We are really pleased to welcome him to the Club and look forward to working with him and settling him into our squad.”
Like every player who has joined the club under Postecoglou, he has generally been able to improve them which is also the case for the player who were already there when he arrived.
He fits the profile of a player which the manager likes working with as he is versatile and can also play on the wing which gives Celtic even greater flexibility.
Also going by the managers comments, he is aware of the challenge which he is coming into as minutes will not be guaranteed due to the form of Kyogo Furuhashi but Oh will be willing to push to challenge him for a starting place.
