Ange Postecoglou is being linked with a surprise return to management in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Celtic and Tottenham boss, who guided Spurs to Europa League glory and Champions League qualification, has been out of work since his dismissal last week following inconsistent league form that led them to finish 17th. His departure took many by surprise.
Now, reports in the Telegraph suggest Saudi side Al Ahli are interested in bringing him in. The Riyadh-based club, boasting a star-studded squad that includes names like Roberto Firmino, Édouard Mendy, Franck Kessié, Riyad Mahrez and Ivan Toney, could make a compelling destination for the Australian manager.
Postecoglou is said to be under consideration as current boss Matthias Jaissle reportedly weighs up a move back to Europe. A switch to Al Ahli would see Postecoglou return to Asia, a continent where he has previously thrived with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan’s J-League before his move to Celtic.
Such a move would be in keeping with the growing trend of high-profile managers heading to the Middle East.
Postecoglou was expected to stay in Europe, but he’s never been one to follow expectations.
No deal has been confirmed yet, but his potential arrival in Saudi Arabia would mark another significant chapter in the manager’s already globe-spanning career.
