Over 500 Celtic fas made the Trip to the north of Norway to watch their side tumble out of the third tier of European football.

Some supporters travelled on many flights passing through multiple countries, then faced the airport in Bodo being closed for a couple of hours due to the conditions on matchday. When the airport eventually opened, pilots struggled on their final descent and attempted to land numerous times.

The Celtic support will follow their team home and away, no matter where they play or the circumstances.

The visiting support braved the cold and stormy conditions to watch their team, something Postecoglou is highly thankful for.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Ange remarked;

“The supports are outstanding. They were still there encouraging at the end with our players. Unfortunately, we can’t send them home happy this time, but I think they understand where we are at and what we need to do.”

The travelling support deserved a goal tonight. Maeda and Abada came closest but couldn’t give their fans something to cheer.

The support will be in full voice at Easter Road on Sunday, backing the team.

  1. He deliberately let those fans down tonight by playing a second string team he knew couldn’t perform against the Norwegians. Had he played the usual first team then I’m sure they would have won that game and the overall tie. It was Posticoglou’s fearful and negative management, not lack of quality in the squad, that cost the fans tonight. Imagine putting out your B team against a good side and then apologising for the resultant humiliation and trying to deflect the blame with a “not quite there yet” comment about the squad. The first team would have beaten them tonight but Posticoglou didn’t believe that and put a bunch of duds out with a view to a defeat. I haven’t seen Celtic play that badly since just before Lennon left, it was disgraceful and fully down to negative management.

      • So you dont care if we keep getting turfed out of Europe by teams on a fraction of our budget and support?
        And what if we dont win the league?
        Celtic should be fighting on all fronts, especially in Europe, thats where we made our reputation, sadly nowadays it gets tarnished as each season passes

    • Toyally agree, learned the line up as I was queueing to get into the ground and basically Ange chucked it.
      Improved in 2nd half, mainly due to Abada but 1st half was a total embarrassment from players either miles off form (Rogic, Bitton,Forrest) and guys who are nowhere near 1st team material (Starfelt, Welsh, Ralston, Scales)
      A lot of our support need to stop the cult worship of Ange and open their eyes.
      No one saying he’s done a bad job but to be thrashed twice by Norweigan champions in a 3rd tournament is a new low for our reputation in Europe

  2. Arctic conditions. Artificial pitch. I think Ange done the right thing. We can’t afford to lose senior players to injuries. Big game on Sunday full squad available time to pile on the pressure on the Ibrox Entity.
