Ange Postecoglou has made it clear he expects new faces coming in this January and some players heading for a permanent or temporary Celtic exit.

The manager has always been a straight shooter since day one. Ange doesn’t deal in cliches or cryptic nonsense – all he does is answer questions out to him, openly and honestly.

Asked about Celtic’s current squad and the upcoming January window, the manager was in no doubt this squad needs reinforcements and he expects some through the door.

“I still think we need more, squad wise we are not where we want to be,” Ange told Celtic TV.

“It’s only natural that we wouldn’t be. We’ve added 12 players and it would have been too much to bring in any more than that. I knew at the end of the transfer window that it still wasn’t enough.

“Nothing has changed, although I’m really pleased we have managed to get through this period thus far.

“We’ve got a lot of games to go and most of the players are up and running and available. We are starting to get to a good level.

“The resilience we showed coming back from Germany and playing three days later [in the win over Aberdeen] is a good sign for the team as well. My view is that we can still improve the squad and we want to improve the squad in January and the club is supporting me in that.

“Some guys will be going on loan and some will be moving out, that’s only natural as everything progresses.”

We have a decent starting XI, but when injuries hit, the bhoys are up against it. There was a point earlier this season when Ajeti was our only fit striker.

We’re very light in midfield and if the Bayer Leverkusen tie has taught us anything – the dip in quality from our starting XI to our bench is huge.

It’s time for Celtic to really hammer home this rebuild and give Ange wall what he needs to succeed. The signs are there the Australian is building something special.
