ANGE POSTECOGLOU has said he is not worried about his players travelling for their country’s international fixtures.

Celtic have a wide range of internationalists at the club, from Japan to Australia, to Sweden to Scotland.

After Ross County on Saturday, we enter another international break. Thankfully, this is the last of the season, with it being disrupted three times already.

Talking via Celtic TV, Postecoglou admitted that he believes that players representing their country is a positive for the club as the player can develop;

“A lot of our guys are still sort of young and in the infancy of their international careers.

“Every time they challenge themselves in that international arena, playing and training with different players, I only see it as a positive. The drawback for us is a lot of our players have to travel a fair way.

“That’s the one you’re more conscious of rather than being worried about injuries too much. They get good recovery when they get back into club mode.

“I only see it as a positive. I know other managers have a different perspective on it.”

Postecoglou has remained consistent in his messaging regarding players representing their countries. He will never withhold a player, even if Celtic have a potential season-defining derby.

There is not too much competitive action in this international break, with countries already qualifying for this year’s world cup and the ongoing conflict that spills Ukraine and Russia out.

However, for Celtic’s players, there is still a lot to play for. Japan and Australia have yet to secure their spot in Qatar, and Sweden also has to secure their place.
