ANGE POSTECOGLOU sent a message to anyone who believes Dom McKay’s exit could influence the dressing room morale and quashed any rumours of discontent.

The Australian manager is a straight shooter and has never gave off the impression to us that he feels the need to protect anyone at the club if it isn’t warranted.

The manager said the new acting chief executive Michael Nicholson has been fully supportive of him since the manager joined the club and that nobody at the club has stood in the way of giving him what he needs to make the club a success.

“If you think between those four walls in the dressing room there’s been anything other than discussion about Ross County over the last two days you’re missing the point of what we’re all about.” Ange told BBC Scotland.

Asked about a potential DoF appointment, Ange said:

“I’ve never said anything about a Director of Football. Do I need one? What I need is to continue to build a football club and a football team that can bring success to this great institution.

“What I’ve never done over the course of my whole career is do what other people suggest. I’ll always do what I feel is the best for the situation.

“We’ve come through a really hectic period where I felt getting our squad together was the number one priority. Now I get the chance to build a structure around it.

“If I feel changes need to be made, I will make them, but at no stage has the board, or anyone else at the club, got in the way of me doing anything.”

Celtic and Dom McKay went their separate ways after the Chief exec joined the club in April.

It came as a shock but now the club have to move on without McKay’s presence and Ange seems equipped not to let this effect his team.

Celtic won 3-0 on Saturday even though they were missing key players. Hopefully when everybody is back, we can really hit our stride.
