CeltsAreHere.com were speaking to Ange Postecoglou on Monday afternoon and we asked him one pressing question many Celtic supporters wanted answered; will Celtic use the January window to sign Jota on a permanent deal?
The winger has been a revelation since joining the club and given Celtic have an option to buy the player outright from Benfica, many fans want to see a deal done as soon as possible.
In attendance at today’s presser, Ange told CeltsAreHere he couldn’t commit to a timeframe for looking into a permanent deal – inferring it would likely not be in January.
What Ange did say was the player is settled and loves playing for Celtic. It’s about seeing where they are down the line and proceeding accordingly.
It’s unlikely Celtic will be making a permanent move for Jota in the January window. It will happen when best for the club.
Important for him and the player to see where they are and how best to proceed.

Celtic have until the summer to get a deal done for Jota. We have been a proponent of using January to strengthen the squad with some new additions. If the Hoops can overcome the odds and win the league, there’s a very good chance they’ll automatically qualify for the Champions League, at which point we could use some of that cash to land the Portuguese star.
I dont see why there is a big rush to sign him up yet, hes here to the end of the season anyway, buy him then. Lets use any spare cash in January to strengthen again
Get Jota done quickly! Before the BIG cheque happens!
