The Super League got shut down almost as quickly as it entered the football world, but it hasn’t stopped some clubs still consider the idea, especially with the money involved.
In the latest reports, it’s believed that Celtic would be approached about the possibility of joining the league. It would likely lead to a massive fallout, similar to the last time with English clubs, with fans so against the competition but the directors swaying towards the idea.
Real Madrid is thought to be one of the driving forces of the breakaway league to this day, with La Liga sides in real financial trouble. Ahead of Celtic’s match against the Spanish side on Wednesday, Postecoglou was asked about the competition.
Giving a different perspective on the proposal, the Celtic manager said;
“Part of the beauty of this competition is that all clubs have the possibility of playing it open if they qualify on the field”
🤩 "Parte de la belleza de esta competición es que todos los clubes tengan abierta la posibilidad de jugarla si se clasifican en el campo"

By joining the league, it would probably mean that Celtic would have to leave the SPFL and UEFA competitions. The proposal has its benefits, granted, but this is something that shouldn’t be happening in the game, nevermind for Celtic to consider it.
