ANGE POSTECOGLOU showed some frustration about his latest injury setback.

The manager was set to unleash Gorgios Giakoumakis in the second half against Raith Rovers after finally getting the striker fit enough to make the squad.

During the warm-up, the player felt his calf go. It would have been during the game, I was sitting behind the goals at Celtic Park and watched the striker stretch out as the game was going.

At half time, he was nowhere to be seen with the rest of the subs out being put through their paces. It prompted many in the ground to believe he was coming out for the second half, but as we now know, he was on his way for a scan.

Speaking to Premier Sports, Ange showed a little frustration and spoke about bad luck.

“I don’t know what it is mate, I’ve walked under a ladder.

“He did his calf within the warm-up and we’ve simply despatched him off to do a scan now. He has picked up damage sadly.”

On the semi-final draw, the manager seemed more optimistic. The club have ben drawn against the holder’s St Johnstone at Hampden.

Celtic will hopefully have some players back by the time that game rolls around.

“It ought to be an important event and opponent.

‘Clearly, St Johnstone did rather well in the cups over the last 12 months and it’s good for us to be there.”

Celtic continue on with one fit striker and without their captain.

It’s trying times for the club and Ange at the moment.

  1. In this world you can make your own luck, by being positive and having a half decent budget to start with. But poor Angeroo, seems his foundations are just built on sand. If it wasn’t for bad luck, he’d have no luck at all.
