Kilmarnock boss Angelo Alessio has spoken out after rumours have been circulating regarding his defender Greg Taylor.

The left-back has been linked with a move to Celtic this transfer window after the Parkhead club sold Kieran Tierney to Arsenal for a record fee.

Celtic are said to be weighing up their options but Alessio is adamant he wants to keep Taylor at the club even though he just signed another left-back.

The manager also made it clear there had bee no bids for Greg at this moment and it’s all conjecture at this point.

“I want two players for every position,” the Italian explained to Football Scotland.

“We have Greg Taylor at left-back and now we have Hamalainen.

“We want to keep our best players and for this reason the situation with Celtic and Greg are just rumours.

“There are 10 or 11 days left of the market but we know our situation with Greg Taylor. It’s only rumours.”

The transfer window closes on September 2nd and with the clock running down it looks like Celtic are starting to up their game.

The bhoys have brought in five signings this summer with a sixth on the way in Fraser Forster. The goalkeeper is making a return to the club where he made his name on a season long loan.
