Ange Postecoglou acknowledged the early season chat that claimed he would be sacked by Christmas in the pre-match press conference ahead of a game where Celtic can clinch the league title.

Ange won Manager of the year and is about to guide Celtic to the most unlikeliest of title victories this week.

When he turned up at Celtic during a summer of major upheaval, journalists and opposition fans who failed to do their homework on Ange had the Celtic manager ousted by Christmas.

There’s no re-writing of history when we say Celtic fans who were originally sceptical about the appointment changed their tune very quickly when they looked into the manager’s background. Fan media speaking to many pundits in Japan and Australia who gave glowing references of Ange gave us much cause for optimism.

Our shaky start gave credence to the voices Ange wouldn’t last long. Three away defeats in a row for Ange had many gleefully predicting his demise. The third away defeat would be Celtic’s final defeat in the league. The hoops have embarked on a 30 game unbeaten run that’s put them on course for the tile.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday morning. Ange took a dig at those who said he’d be gone while being asked about his manager of the year award.

Brilliant from the Celtic gaffer!

  1. They also said he was Chris Moyles antipodean cousin. ‘Ripper mate’ They can have their chimps tea party to celebrate making a final. Might even push both teams. But as we we all know oranges get shredded in Seville.
