ANGE POSTECOGLOU isn’t thinking about winning the Champions League opener against Real Madrid but is concentrating on his team’s performance, knowing that if it’s of a high standard, his team could leave Celtic Park with three points.

It’s going to be an incredibly tough match, but, as ever, Ange is determined to play his brand of football and not change too much for the match.

The Celtic squad are on a high after Saturday’s derby victory, but they will need to come back down to earth for the tie on Tuesday night.

Speaking on Sky Sports, the Celtic manager talked about the match, stating that the result will only come if the team performs well.

“It’s not about being confident of winning. All we can do is control our performance and the way we play. We try to play the game a certain way and be the best we can be. It’s what we’ve done in every game so far, it’s what we did last year, and that’s what we’ll to do tomorrow night.

“We’ll try to play our football, be the best team we can be, and the end result is often a consequence of a good, strong performance.

“There’s no point in us thinking about winning or losing without thinking about how we perform.”

Celtic fans are optimistic about the match. Real Madrid could be in for a shock with Celtic’s start to the game. An early goal for the Hoops could make the difference between points.

Postecoglou will be keen for his team to perform to their highest standard; if they do so, they’re in with a chance.
