ANGE POSTECOGLOU has talked about his first season at Celtic and the expectations surrounding the position.

When Postecoglou was appointed and the extent of the rebuild was revealed, fans had a ‘realistic’ target, to simply close the gap between us and the Ibrox club.

Just 6 months into his time in charge, Postecoglou has lifted a trophy and is still very much in the title race which looks as if it will go down to the wire.

Not bad going for the first season in charge of a club who finished 25 points off top spot the previous season and trophyless, never mind the fact Postecoglou had to watch star players leave as he tried t replace them.

Speaking about this, Ange said; [The National]

“That is really important to me, I get that I am judged on immediate success and I understood that, but I have always loved building teams for the medium to long term. Getting a group of like-minded staff and players together.

“We are bringing in guys who I think have their best football ahead of them. Hopefully, they can grow together and achieve good things.

“This year is about bringing them to the club and forming a bond with the ones who are remaining. Understanding the club and building a team that is going to be successful for a number of years.

“To me, that’s the most important thing, but I also understood pretty clearly I couldn’t just have this year as a building process. We had to have some success this year and that is what we built towards.”

This is brilliant from the boss, he understands what being the Celtic manager means and is not shying away from it. It is a privilege to call Ange Postecoglou our boss.
