Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou could face a potential selection dilemma, thanks to the performances of January recruits Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley.

Of course, this isn’t a bad dilemma to have when midfielders such as Tom Rogic, David Turnbull, Nir Bitton and Yosuke Ideguchi return to action, with the 56-year old having plenty of quality midfield options to choose from.

At earlier stages of this season, you wouldn’t really have imagined that as the trio of Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic, and David Turnbull played the vast majority of games in the middle of the park.

However, both Hatate and O’Riley have made an incredible start to life as Celtic players, giving those missing out due to several different reasons an extremely difficult task of breaking back into the side.

Some might have expected this to be the case when Hatate arrived. But O’Riley has been a revelation for Ange, linking up brilliantly with Josip Juranovic and Liel Abada done the right-hand side.

At this point, both seem undroppable on current form and the way they are contributing to this Celtic side, in an attacking and defensive sense.

As stated, it will undoubtedly be an interesting dilemma for Ange to figure out in the second half of the season. But, it is a healthy one to have for the Celtic manager, with players vying for their place in this free-flowing Hoops side.
