NEIL LENNON has slammed the SFA for their treatment of Ryan Christie and wants them to own up to making a mistake.

The Celtic manager told the media he was left angry and bewildered by Ryan’s retrospective ban after the Glasgow Derby and has pointed out, worst offences have gone unpunished cited or not cited at the time.

Christie will have to sit on the sidelines now for a grab on Alfredo Morelos, a man who seems to be above the law because the Ibrox club have waged a false war on the treatment of their striker.

Celtic have been caught in the firing line by a hapless SFA but yet, other than a statement by the club and Neil Lennon’s obvious annoyance – nothing will be done to challenge the governing body.

“I would like to see common sense prevail. I’d like them to say, ‘Sorry, we made a mistake’.” Neil Lennon told SunSport.

“From the club’s point of view, we are extremely disappointed and bewildered by the outcome.

“I just don’t see how you can come to that conclusion. It’s so inconsistent.

“How they find that to be an aggressive act or an act of brutality, as they put it, is baffling to me.

“I’ve seen worse either go uncited or go unpunished, even when they have been cited.

“We are angry about it. The club will speak to the SFA, though I don’t know if they will get any clarification on it or not.

“But from our point of view, we are bitterly disappointed with the outcome.

“It’s over nothing. We’ve looked at it time and time again and, if anything, it’s accidental.

“We could show you umpteen other incidents far worse which have gone unpunished. We don’t understand it and are very angry about it.

“There is so much confusion, but we have seen incidents that are a lot worse than that go unpunished.

“It’s absolutely bizarre from our point of view and very frustrating.
