St Johnstone has announced a change in their seating policy for matches against Celtic in an effort to bolster home support at McDiarmid Park.
The Perth-based club traditionally offered additional seating areas to visiting fans, but under new management, this practice will see a considerable adjustment.
Adam Webb, the new club chief, has declared that moving forward, visiting supporters will be confined to the North and Ormond stands, along with a specific section of the Geoff Brown Stand, which is necessary for accommodating disabled seating. This decision attempts to foster a more intimidating home atmosphere and ensure St Johnstone supporters can more effectively rally behind their team.

It’s becoming an increasingly popular trend to cut Celtic’s away fans, with Hibs also making the same move already this season. The last time Celtic visited St Johnstone, there were 4,555 fans in attendance. There’s no clear number as to what it’ll be in a few weeks.
It’s hard to find many level-headed fans who have a problem with this, unless there are thousands of empty seats on matchday.
Hopefully, this decision doesn’t backfire, and there are plenty of Saints fans in the ground, just like there were a few years ago when the club had European football.
ENOUGH! Celtic’s away fans float most of these wee teams’ budgets. If they want to punish us to fall in line with petty Sevco, let them but if the hurt ego of Orcsville had the first word, Celtic should have the last word.
Celtic Park should ban domestic away fans. ALL OF THEM.
It will hurt their ticket sales, see Hampden every time we are browbeaten into selling a 50/50 share in the cups, big bald spaces in teh stands.
The rest of the league will lose money, the quality of their pitch, of their manager and their players will decline further and when they are desperate for the injection of Celtic away fans cash?
Well, we can twist the knife and till to get lost or we can negotiate with them a deal where we come out even better than we are now. We own this league, we fund this league, to hell with them and their jealous eyes. Ooft, the pre-self-edit version would have gotten me arrested. HH
