It was the on again off again saga of the January window that seen Henry Onyekuru try his best to push a move through to Celtic after firm interest from the Scottish Champions.

In the end the 19-year-old stayed put but was promised a summer exit by Belgian side KAS Eupen.

The striker has so far scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for his club this term and has done more than attract just Celtic’s eye at this point.

Celtic’s unsuccessful attempts to bring the highly rated forward to the club last transfer window could now prove costly as the player has gained quite a few more admirers since.

Dortmund are the latest team to enquire about the youngsters availability along with four EPL sides. Clubs that have an obvious financial advantage over Celtic should it come down to the highest offer.

Moussa Dembele chose Celtic over more money as he and his representatives seen Celtic as the perfect place for the striker to progress, and they’ve been vindicated since. It’s yet to emerge whether Henry would have a similar outlook.

  1. Not too bothered tbh, him going AWOL really set off alarm bells. Dembele seems grounded and patient, this guy looks a diva already.

  2. Celtic had the chance to get him but wouldn’t pay the £3 million asking price, offrered £1 million. If they wanted him that badly they should have payed just mho

  3. We were already priced out when we wouldn’t match the £5m offer from Turkey or £4m from Russia because we valued him at £1.5m and induced him to attempt to force through a cut price move.
