There has been conflicting reports over the weekend about possible bids and destinations for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

Supporters believe it’s a matter of when and not if the player moves on this summer. With around over five weeks of the window left, Eddy is still part of the side and starter Celtic’s first competitive fixture of the season against Midtjylland.

MailSport is reporting the striker will likely move with Brighton being the Frenchman’s likely destination. However, on Saturday, a local Brighton publication was adamant the seaside club are not interested in the Celtic star.

The Argus reported a ‘well placed source’ had said: “Reports that keep emerging are completely false.”.

The MailSport report claims Brighton are interested and they will use some of the £50m fee they get from Ben White who is on his way to Arsenal in order to seal the deal.

Chief Mail journalist Stephen McGowan also reckons they will face competition from Crystal Palace who now have Patrick Vieira at the helm.

The more this rumbles on to later in the window, the less time Celtic will have to get their ducks in a row and use his fee to bring in more players.

The nightmare scenario for the Hoops would be Eddy stays and signs a pre-contract with a club this January. No fee for Eddy would be unthinkable.
