It has been reported that Arsenal has just splashed out a mind-bending £72m on their latest transfer target.

Numerous reports are saying that Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal is a done deal. With mixed reports on the fee, the Record is saying a price of 72 million pounds for the Ligue 1 winger.

The signing will be a huge boost for Arsenal who for once beat off Premiership opposition with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United also said to be keen on the  24-year-old.  The Ivory Coast international bagged 23 goals last season for Lille making him hot property.

There was talk that Arsenal didn’t have the transfer funds to meet Celtic’s value on Kieran Tierney after two bids were rejected. If today’s transfer fee is correct then the myth that Arsenal were short on cash or only had 40 million to spend this summer have been blown wide open.

Maybe Neil Lennon and the suits are Celtic Park should up their price when Arsenal clearly have money to spend on young up and coming players. Tierney speculation seems to gather pace on weekends and we have ignored several reports already this morning but this latest bit of Arsenal activity will kick reports into hyperdrive.
