According to reports Celtic breakout star and player of the year David Turnbull is being watched very closely by Aston Villa.

David Friel of SunSport writes the English club are looking to sign the midfielder this summer for £7m.

David didn’t get into the side to near enough half way through the season but since then the player has been ever present for the Hoops.

Out of all the players Celtic fans expect to leave the club this summer, David’s name wouldn’t even make the list.

Hoops supporters want to see a new manager build a midfielder around Turnbull and Callum McGregor.

We have some top players still in the side and we must strive to keep the players who can make a real difference to the club this summer and beyond.

Villa snatched John McGinn from the grips of Celtic two years ago when the club dithered on a bid for the midfielder. By the time we got serious, McGinn was already in Birmingham. It meant The David Turnbull deal got done very quickly at the second time of asking.

The Celtic hierarchy were petrified they’d miss out on another top Scottish talent.
