Bahrudin Atajic was left out of the Shrewsbury team at the weekend because of issues with his fitness.

The Celtic youngster who went to Shrewsbury on-loan in January was told by caretaker boss Mike Jackson that his fitness wasn’t up to scratch.

He has subsequently spoke to Celtic and the player will now go a full pre-season training programme to bring him up to speed.

This is not the first time a Celtic youngster has been told he is short of fitness – the same accusation was levelled at Tony Watt when he first moved to Belgium.

Which begs the question –  Are Celtic preparing their players enough for first team football?

Atajic has made 3 appearances for the Celtic first team, all from the bench and scored in his most recent appearance against Motherwell.

It remains to be seen if this loan move will be a success.

We wish Bahrudin all the best!
