Edouard, who has already played for Palace and Leicester City this season, is ineligible to feature for another team in Europe. However, MLS regulations differ, allowing him to make the switch to the United States.

The 27-year-old striker departed Celtic in the summer of 2021 after a hugely successful spell in Glasgow, where he scored 86 goals in 179 appearances and cemented himself as a fan favourite. Palace paid £14m to secure his services, and while his time at Selhurst Park started brightly, consistency has been an issue.

This season, Edouard has struggled for regular game time at Palace and was loaned to Leicester City, although limited opportunities there could see him recalled to south London.

The MLS side has already been linked with Kyogo Furuhashi of Celtic and Emmanuel Latte Lath of Middlesbrough, with talks with the latter progressing well.

A move to Atlanta could reignite Edouard’s career, providing him with a fresh start in a competitive league that continues to attract big-name players. With his technical ability, goal-scoring instinct, and experience in high-pressure environments, he could thrive as the focal point of Atlanta’s attack.
