FRANK McAvennie has increasingly become one of the blowhards ex-Celts in the press looking for attention – so we’ll give him some.
Last week he was having a go at Klimala after watching him play very few minutes for the club so far. This week it’s Odsonne Edouard’s turn to get the wrath of Macca’s attention-seeking behaviour.
He claims the Celtic striker didn’t look interested in the game against Ross County at the weekend (A bounce game). This seems to be something levied at Edouard from time to time by a certain section of our support.
“It is incredible.” McAveenie told Sun Sport.
“When I watched Edouard the other day he looked a wee bit disinterested. Like he did not want to be there.
“Maybe he is just a big game player and he is just getting the minutes in. Maybe he needs crowds.
“I would watch this space with Edouard. Everybody has a price. If somebody offers above their valuation you have got to take it.
“I have not seen enough from Edouard in pre-season.
“I know it is just pre-season but I have not seen anything that suggests that he is up for this. This is a massive season.”
Macca’s hot spicy takes on a few pre-season outings is horrible at best. Edouard knows what pre-season is about and his calm character seems to be a magnet for people like McAvennie. If he’s not scoring he doesn’t look interested.
Of course, every player has his price and there are no guarantees of anybody staying at Celtic Part this summer, but to go after our talisman who has carried the burden of expectation for two years is very poor by the Ex-Celt. As we’ve said on many occasions, Macca needs to stick to West Ham.
