Celtic central defender Auston Trusty returned to the Hoops’ starting lineup for their game against St. Mirren this afternoon.
The American came into the team at the expense of Liam Scales, who made a costly error at Ibrox a few days ago.
It was the 26-year-old’s first appearance since the Premier Sports Cup final a few weeks ago, and he coped rather well.

Trusty was, on the whole, solid defensively. Other than a few loose passes, he had a comfortable performance at the heart of the Bhoys’ backline, contributing towards a clean sheet
As Arne Engels whipped a characteristically teasing corner into the box in the first half, too, Trusty glanced home to net his first goal in green and white.
The £6m-man’s header, two minutes from the break, put the hosts well on their way to victory.
Nicolas Kuhn, who opened the scoring 33 minutes in, then got the third not long after the hour mark.
The Scottish Premiership champions resultantly secured a comfortable 3-0 triumph, and now sit pretty at the top of the table. Brendan Rodgers’ men are 13 points clear of closest rivals Rangers, who drew 3-3 with Hibernian earlier today.
Celts brilliantly bounced back from the disappointment of Thursday’s derby loss this afternoon. Dundee United are up next on Wednesday evening: it remains to be seen whether Trusty will keep his place in the team.
In Trusty we Trust. Unless St Brendan decides to rest him.
