Auston Trusty has been named in the SPFL Team of the Week after his performance in Celtic’s narrow win over St Mirren.
It wasn’t a vintage display from the Hoops.
They scraped through 1-0 thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s early goal, but couldn’t find the second that would have killed the game, leaving the defence with work to do late on.
That’s where Trusty stepped up.

The American centre-back, operating on the right side of the pairing, delivered a calm and controlled display under pressure.
St Mirren had their moments, throwing crosses into the box and forcing a series of set-pieces, but Trusty and the backline held firm to secure Celtic’s first clean sheet in nine games.
His numbers underline his influence – 102 passes, 99 completed and 11 into the final third, while he completed 4 clearances.
It’s been a stop-start period for Trusty, who returned to league action only recently after suspension, having featured in Europe and the cup in the meantime.
But he’s now building momentum at the perfect time.
With the run-in underway and a World Cup on the horizon on home soil, Trusty is making his case when it matters most.
Celtic are going to need their players to stand up and be counted in this run-in.
