BRENDAN RODGERS put the Arani story to bed last week about the player and parent club Manchester City having a get out clause this January if the player didn’t get first team game time.
The Celtic manager was clear there is no such clause in the Australian’s two-year loan deal and spoke about how Arzani is currently happy developing at the club.
“There are lots of things, but he is very happy and we have been very pleased in terms of how he is making progress.
“It’s not easy to just snap your fingers and just come into a top team with top players who have done very well, but I have been really pleased with how he is developing and working and adapting to how we want to work.”
However, the Australian website who broke the ‘story’ about Arzani’s get out clause insists they know that such a clause exists.
Upon hearing Rodgers words The World Game hit back with this on their website: “The World Game – which was first to reveal news of Arzani’s move to Celtic – has been told by sources close to his camp that such an arrangement exists and remains in place, though none of the parties want to see it activated.”.
Arzani was taken out of Celtic’s developmental game against Partick Thistle yesterday so he could train with the first team – a sign that Rodgers is perhaps readying the player for first team duty.
If Brendan Rodgers has addressed the get out clause story and made the claim there is none then it would take cold hard evidence from The World Game for anyone to take it seriously.
