As Celtic lick their wounds after Saturday’s defeat they will take no comfort from what’s going on in the Australian International camp.

This week Tom had to leave Glasgow under duress to head over to Dubai before the Glasgow Derby to link up with the Socceroos.

Rogic and Celtic were told in no uncertain terms that Rogic could not stay for the Ibrox trip, even when the player made a personal plea to the Federation and the manager Graham Arnold.

However, it was not to be, and Arnold wanted Rogic in the Dubai training camp ahead of their Friendly against Oman – the last friendly for the players before they kick off their Asian Cup tournament in January.

The only problem is – Rogic hasn’t even made the squad for the friendly.

This means Arnold disqualified Rogic from playing in the Glasgow Derby so that he could train with his teammates ahead of a cup tournament that doesn’t kick off for another week after today.

We wrote back on Friday, other countries at the Asian Cup had accommodated some of their star players while Australia refused to do so.

There is no doubt there will be a certain amount of resentment towards Arnold from Rogic who would have watched the Glasgow Derby knowing he could have helped Celtic’s cause.
