CELTIC fans are furious after watching their team not show up at Livingston once again.

The news from Ibrox of a draw is little consolation to the Hoops at this point other than we’re only 4 points behind them instead of six.

This wasn’t a hard luck story, it was an absolute unmitigated disaster of a performance from the team today and Ange’s first defeat where he’ll come under the microscope.

Yes, we have players missing and no we can’t win every game but given what we do have, we should be putting in a much more professional performance.

One man who has come in for a lot of criticism today is James McCarthy. I’m reluctant to jump in on that at the moment, the Irish international is still in the infancy of his Celtic career and is clearly still not up to speed fitness wise or with his teammates.

Some Celtic fans have seen enough of the midfielder already and are venting their frustrations after a horrible defeat.

  1. Firstly DON’T play McCarthy if he isn’t fit. Young Montgomery is fit and ready to work his socks to to get into the team. The team are all over the place. There is talent and it’s good, but guys like Soro, Turnbull, Starfelt, are dire.
Not only will we be looking for a new CEO, but a new manager. This is woeful.

  2. Good managers simply do not lose this many games so early in a season. I’m sorry to say that after today I have lost confidence in Ange as the man to restore Celtic to something like their former dominance under Rodgers. His choice of team and substitutes today just beggars belief – very Lennonesque. McCarthy, Bolingoli, Bitton and Johnson? Have you taken leave of your senses, Ange?

  3. I thought that Turnbull was bad but compared to McCarthy he is Brazilian. You get what you pay for and Celtic paid the right price for McCarthy. Palace supporters were delighted when he left. Celtic never looked like scoring. It was woeful and may be the beginning of Ange’s struggles. 3 defeats in 6 games. Far too much. To win the League Celtic can really only afforf to get beat once more. And drop points in 4/5 other games. That means about 24/25 wins out of 32 games. No chance. And achieving this will only get 84 points, probably not enough to win the league. To win the league we will need over 90 points. 27/28 wins out of the games left. Sept 19 and the league is gone. I am afraid the positivity for Ange will die very soon and he won’t see out the season.

  4. We never learn.
Every fan & his dog knew how Livingston would play today yet we looked totally ill-prepared for the physical battle & the ridiculous pitch.
Ok, it was Ange’s first experience there but the useless Kennedy should have known very well from experience & had a plan B ready – but of course, we might have known he’d be of no help whatsoever.
I don’t think there was one long ball hit over the top to try something different & get quickly in behind them. Instead, we allowed Livi to get their men back behind the ball with our predictable slow build-up from the back – only for McCarthy to slow it down even more with his poor passing, lack of movement & zero creativity. If this is what he’s bringing to us, then I despair. Johnston another waste of a jersey today & generally is – when not out injured. Ajeti is just nowhere near good enough to wear the Celtic jersey & never will be.
As for Walsh – he looked totally unsure of himself yet was playing out of his skin in defence before he was inexplicably dropped for Juranovic who I don’t see as having been any better. Soro looked rusty & unsure as well; Turnbull is nowhere near fit or sharp enough & I don’t understand why that hasn’t been sorted in training.
In any case, it looks like if we leave a player out for a game or two, he comes back half asleep. How on earth professional players can lack sharpness after being out for just one or two games is beyond me but it looks like rotation doesn’t bode well for us … coaching/training mustn’t be up to scratch but then again should we be surprised given that Ange has no help whatsoever in that department.

  5. I wont criticise the whole team. But the selection, Bolingoli backk in a Celtic jersey ?? Mr slow it down Bitton as a sub ? FFS. Turnbull stuck out left most of the time where neither him, Bolingoli or Jota once showed the speed to move the ball to the bye-line and cross at a turning defence. Absolute old school way of beating a pack in the box.Someone mentioned the ball directly over the top ? How about another variation, Long shots? especially on that shitty pitch where the ball never runs true and its made for mistakes. We saw it last week with Ross County. Not pretty, but still a goal from Carter-Vickers. I smell a rat. That smug bench sitting there not giving a shit whilst Ange is alone standing watching. I wonder if they still have too much say and if Ange is going to be a yes man or will he walk ?

  6. What a bunch of negative pish commented on here!!!
Aye we were not at our best on a surface that no football player bar the sluggers who train on it every day but for people to call for Anges head??? have a fuc++ng word with yourselves.Mark my words with McGregor,Kyogo,,Julien back and the Greek boys match fit Ange will have you all purring with contentment. Also whats al the we can only afford so many more defeats,ONE in fact one comment suggests? WHY?? is it because our main rival to the title are that good?Ange is giving players a chance and assessing their worth to the team, some of whom are not 100% match fit,but a bad run of injuries has forced Ange to play players not fully fit ie McCarthy today, just look at the bench Bitton(not much game time) Johnston(no game time this season)so come on Bhoys whatever happened to the “we dont care wether we win lose or draw” attitude HH
