According to SunSport this evening we have some great news that Jackie McNamara is ‘awake and talking’ after his emergency operation.

The Celtic legend collapsed near his home in York on Sunday night and he was rushed to hospital where they operated on him for a suspected bleed on the brain.

Earlier today an update from the hospital said Jackie was critical but stable. Tonight it appears the former Celtic player is showing signs of recovery.

The Sun writes: “It is understood that he has since come round and has been communicating with family and medical staff”

Jackie has close ties with the Celtic support and has been on the Celtic supporters q and a circuit as well as running his own.

The former captain also own a bar with former teammate Simon Donnelly in Spain.

Given the severity of what the ex-Celt has been through there will be many breathing a sigh of relief this evening at the latest update.

We all want to see Jackie back up and fighting fit. We are sending our positive thoughts and our best wishes to Jackie and his family.

Hail Hail.
