BRENDAN RODGERS has told Celtic fans that Moussa Dembele is back to his best after suffering a mid-season slump.

The Irishman puts that down to outside noise, the transfer saga that engulfed the Frenchman in December in January knocked him off his game.

Rodgers is confident Moussa is peaking just in time as Celtic head into the business end of their season.

“He (Moussa) is back to his best. I think the background noise has gone. That’s absolutely key for any player.

“I think what you see now is a young player free now in his mind to focus on his strengths.

“When he is that he is a real handful. He was terrific in the game here in Glasgow against Zenit.”

Moussa Dembele will certainly start at Ibrox on Sunday with Leigh Griffiths still out with injury. Could he be joined by Osdonee Edouard who worked well with his compatriot last week in the Scottish Cup?
