CELTIC beat Dundee Utd 3-0 on Sunday afternoon, but it could have been so much more. All three of Celtic’s goals were brilliant and very little the goalkeeper could have done about them.

However, there were plenty of memorable saves for Benjamin Siegrist to keep the scoreline down, thwarting Kyogo and Abada among others during the game.

Benjamin has always acquitted himself well and has been brilliant for Dundee Utd.

It’s our belief Celtic should sign the goalkeeper as a competition for Hart but most likely a back up goalkeeper.

The drop off in quality between Hart, Bain then Barkas is huge.

If Celtic were to sell Barkas and allow Bain’s contract to run down, they could go and get the Swiss goalkeeper in the summer when he only has a year left on his deal at Tannadice.

We could do a lot worse than signing the goalkeeper. Would he be interested in challenging Hart for the first team spot? Joe isn’t a long term solution for Celtic so it could be an attractive proposition.

  1. From Hart to Bain/Barkas is a huge drop right enough, in a seriously results-jeopardising sort of way if Hart gets injured. Just pay a bit extra and get Siegrist in the January window as stopping hun 2.0 from getting that automatic CL money and shunting them to grave 2.0 is far more important that saving a couple of shekels!
