VASILIS BARKAS was awarded the man of the match after his loan side Utrecht kept their first clean sheet of the season. It came in a goalless draw against Cambuur.

Fotmob state that Barkas made ten saves while the opposition had an expected goals of 1.45. He seems to have been a standout for his side in the second match of their domestic campaign.

After the match, Barkas admitted he couldn’t be happy with the team failing to pick up an expected three points at home.

Celtic Revival For Barkas?

It’s unlikely Barkas will work his way back into the Celtic team. The Hoops have two great goalies in Joe Hart and Ben Siegrist; it’s going to take something special to displace them.

Celtic will be hoping that Barkas can perform well this season in the hope his value can increase and they can recoup as much of the £5 million they spent on him as they can.
