Celtic goalkeeper Vasilias Barkas could reportedly be set for an early exit in the summer according to reports in Greece.
As reported by Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, who was also one of the first reporters to break the news of Barkas’ move to Scotland and he has now confirmed that the goalkeeper could be set for a move away from the club just a year after joining the club.

Barkas has been a very controversial figure in the Celtic goal this season with many fans having differing opinions on the Hoops number one.
As much as he hasn’t been as good as a lot of supporters would have hoped it could be argued that the 26-year old hasn’t been given a fair shot for the club.
The goalkeeping situation has been short of shambolic at the club this season, using all three keepers within the space of a few months which certainly doesn’t help the defensive line to settle and that has been evident this campaign.
Ultimately, letting go of Barkas would be a harsh decision in my opinion because he wasn’t given a fair crack at the whip overall. Being taken in and out of the side regularly, whilst not really making any howlers and add to that playing behind one of the poorest Celtic defensive lines in years.
However, I do understand the club’s stance on this matter a little bit. With a huge rebuild on the way, we have to be confident and sure what the plan is and they may not see that with Barkas going forward.
The problem is he doesn’t save anything!
Barkas was given a fair crack of the as have have the other 2 with none looking as if they are good enough, barkas has struggled to even make a save in a game
Nobody could save anything with what was in front of him,he is a top keeper he has shown that he needs time and the right boss..

Totally undermined by his manager when he needed an extended period in the first team to build up an understanding with the defence and restore his confidence.

He should be playing now to the end of the season to show what he can do to
justify keeping him or play him in the “shop window “,then sell.
I was brought up on Irish League football from the fifties to the nineties ,so what happened to keepers that came out of their goals to catch ,or punch the ball or even clear out the strikers, fists flying and knees up.

We scouted and sign Barkas based on his ability to communicate and organise a back four.
He came to us not being able to speak English, and had to begin lessons when he arrived.
Not being able to communicate effectively, coupled with an ever changing back four has led to his complete failure.
