CELTIC flop Vasilis Barkas was remarkably sent off for violent conduct’ from the bench during Greece’s game against Malta on Thursday evening. [FotMob]
Barkas is out on loan at Utrecht and having a good season with his loan club. The goalkeeper’s form has been that good; he’s found himself back in the international fold.
The game ended 2-2, with Barkas being given his marching orders on the touchline as the game reached a boiling point. It’s a strange one.

The Greek shot-stopper’s time at the Hoops can only be categorised as a disaster. He never go to grips or looked comfortable in a Celtic jersey. The player only managed two appearances for Ange Postecoglou during the double-winning season before being loaned out last summer.

There’s a good chance Celtic will move Barkas on this summer once the season is over. Utrecht claim they don’t have enough cash to complete a deal for the goalie, but if he keeps up decent form, other clubs will be interested.
