Vasilis Barkas could have played his last game for Celtic if reports over Celtic looking at a replacement are true.

The goalkeeper struggled last season and was eventually benched for Scott Bain who himself didn’t cover himself in glory.

It’s a massive problem position for Celtic – Ange Postecoglou can either rehab Barkas or move him on with the hope of bringing in a top replacement.

SunSport claim the club are now considering Matt Ryan for a move to Parkhead and Ange Postecoglou can use his influence to make the deal happen.

The report claims the goalkeeper who spent the second half of last season at Arsenal is ‘being considered’ for a move to Scotland.

I think we’ll see a lot of these types of rumours in the coming weeks and months. Players from Japan and players from Australia will be thrown into the Celtic rumour mill.

It will not always be without credence with Ange having a good knowledge of these leagues, it would make sense he would dip into the overseas market.

Matt is currently at Brighton and has one-year left on his deal. TransferMarkt have the Australian’s fee sitting at £5.4m.
