Former Ibrox player Barry Ferguson has joined some of his former teammates in the media this week to reveal their worry about a Celtic resurgence.

Celtic were being written out of the title race just a month ago when they went six points behind their Glasgow rivals, fast forward to now and the bhoys are just two points behind their rivals and closing in fast.

There’s an opportunity for Ange and his Celtic side to go top of the league this weekend, something we didn’t think would’ve been possible in October, given where we were.

Barry is seeing a Celtic team getting themselves together after a tumultuous year and pre-season. Ange is navigating through very choppy waters, but he’s making a good fist of things.

There’s worry across the city Celtic could become a juggernaut:

‘Ange Postecoglou is getting Celtic’s house in order. By rattling off three straight away wins at Pittodrie, Fir Park and Easter Road he’s sending out a message that his team really is ready to go all the way. There is some serious momentum building.” Ferguson told RecordSport.

‘And that’s what Gerrard has to find after an inconsistent start to the season. Yes, Rangers are two points clear at the top even despite this unsettled spell and that’s hardly a bad place to be.

‘But from now until the New Year is usually the most important period of any season. More often than not it’s when titles are won and lost. Rangers need to stabilise, find their form and put together an extended run of wins.’

The manager was right to say last month nothing is won in September, and that goes for October, but momentum can certainly be built.

Celtic fans looked at the fixtures at the start of October after drawing with Dundee Utd and were fearing the worst with trips to Pittodrie, Fir Park and Easter Road – we’ve not just won those games, we’ve won ALL our games in this run so far.

It’s great to see so much positivity around the club and trepidation from the other side of the city.
