IT was a day in which the Ibrox club had no reason to chant about anything other than their players on the pitch. The Rangers ran out deserved 2-0 winners against the Scottish Champions in a day where Neil Lennon’s side failed to turn up.
Instead of chanting their players names and enjoying the occasion for what it was we got the vile songbook back out – so much so that even a BBC journo felt the need to comment on the bile.
The sectarian filth coming from the Rangers support – clearly audible even here in the studio – is in total contrast to the excellence of their team on the field

Celtic fans have been used to the absolute bile that comes from the terraces at Ibrox stadium but on a day when they had the opportunity to ditch the archaic chants, they doubled down.
Up to their knees, chanting about the death of Lisbon Lions were just some of the things on the menu for the home support.
Then again, what else could they chant? Championees?
