David Turnbull looks set to sign for Celtic today in what has been a sensational u-turn by the player who looked like he was on his way to Norwich.

The Motherwell midfielder did not agree terms with Celtic last Friday and on Tuesday the deal looked dead in the water. Norwich had a bid accepted for David on Tuesday night and just like when the Celtic bid was accepted, everyone assumed the deal would be done and he would join the Canaries.

However, late last night the news broke that the player had snubbed a deal with Norwich in order to sign a Celtic deal.

The BBC have made the bold claim the player was offered a new deal by Celtic in order to entice him to Glasgow even though the club made their position clear a week ago they would not be entering into any more negotiations and it was a take it or leave it offer.

The BBC writes: ‘But despite the 19-year-old travelling to Carrow Road on Wednesday, BBC Scotland has learned the Glasgow side have made a new and successful offer.”

That has yet to be confirmed as the case yet, we will wait and see if any more details emerge about the player signing.
