Michael Stewart was at Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon to watch his former side get completely outplayed by the Hoops.

The game ended 3-2, but the final result certainly flatters the away side. They were always hanging on and were comprehensively played off the pitch by Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Celtic never looked like losing and Hearts game plan to frustrate was dead on arrival. They won a penalty from no more and their second of the game came with the last kick of the ball when Celtic had made so many changes when the game was won.

Stewart heaped praise on Celtic for their performance but also echoed what a lot of supporters believe – Celtic’s attacking prowess is not in question – but their defensive frailties could still be their undoing if they don’t bring in reinforcements.

Celtic know they need a better quality of player at the back if they’re to become a real force again.

There’s two weeks left of the transfer window and it’s imperative the club push on with defensive targets.

We also are in desperate need of a natural left winger. Furuhashi is good out on the left but he’s even more deadly through the middle.

  1. The chance is there to really push on this season. Buy the players we need and the team from across the water are in real trouble if we win the league. Does our board have the guts to put them to the sword? We shall see.
