Belgian and Anderlecht goalkeeper Hendrik van Crombrugge has claimed that he would one day love to sign for Celtic.

As quoted by the Daily Record, the 28-year old made a surprising claim, stating that he would love to have the opportunity to sign for the Hoops one day, being a fan of the traditions that the club holds.

“What I like in clubs is tradition. That’s why I love Glasgow Celtic.

“If someone tells me one day that I can go and play for them, I’ll be off immediately asking ‘where do I sign?’!

“Mind you, my manager, Vincent Kompany, would laugh reading this. He would tell me it wouldn’t suit my style because it would be too kick and rush there!”

Despite Celtic’s current goalkeeping problem, it is unlikely we will see Van Crombrugge sign any time soon, with the shot-stopper just recently signing a new four-year deal with the Pro League side.

In the past few days, a lot of the discussion has been on the future of Greek keeper Vasilias Barkas after he appeared to make another error for Champions League opponents FC Midtjylland’s goal on Tuesday night.

It is always nice to hear nice things said about the club from players abroad, but I’m sure the 28-year old isn’t getting his hopes up too much over making his move to Glasgow at some point in the near future.
