Liverpool has this evening announced the signing of Celtic central defensive target Ben Davies from English Championship side Preston North End.
The 25-year old completed his move to the Premiership Champions tonight despite reportedly coming close to agreeing a pre-contract deal with Celtic in the last few days.

Liverpool’s shock interest came around last night as they were on the lookout for a centre back with the number of injuries they have back there to the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
This comes as a disappointment to Neil Lennon and his coaching staff as Davies looked like the key target this window putting a lot of focus into getting the deal over the line.
Celtic have had defensive frailties all season, now there is no guarantee the English defender would have turned things around for Lennon’s side but he certainly would have given us a good option to have going forward.
You can’t help but feel this situation just sums up our season.
