The situation surrounding Celtic goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist remains uncertain as pre-season gets underway.
Despite Siegrist saying he was set to leave Celtic this summer, the 32-year-old has been spotted back in training at Lennoxtown on the club’s instagram.

Siegrist, who was signed from Dundee United two years ago, was initially brought in as a potential challenger to then-number-one, Joe Hart. However, his role largely remained that of a backup, and with Hart’s recent retirement, there was speculation about Siegrist’s future at the club.
Adding to the intrigue, Siegrist recently said in an interview with Blick, “After my last day at work, I’ll leave as soon as possible. And I’ll never come back here (to Celtic).”
Despite these comments, Siegrist is still at Celtic and could potentially feature in the upcoming friendlies against Ayr United and Queens Park. With the club’s pre-season tour of America on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether Siegrist will part ways with the club or if he will continue to provide his services, at least in the short term.
Brendan Rodgers will give a sign as to whether the ‘keeper is part of his plans in the upcoming games based on his team selection. He has Scott Bain and Tobi Oluwayemi also at his disposal, if he gives both of them minutes that probably spells the end for Siegrist.

Big Ben along with the likes of Mccarthy, and possibly a few others as well, is weather another club is going to match or even better there current contract?
Chances are that they won’t, especially if there not involved within our squad, and haven’t played for a number of seasons now?
Don’t know how many players we can actually loan out these days, but would have thought we would be looking at the loan system moreso in development terms, moreso than trying to put unwanted players in the shop window, especially when no value within them imo?
