Celtic look close to completing a deal that will bring Jota to Parkhead permanently [RecordSport], but the hold-up has some fans concerned that there might be some last-minute complications in the deal. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

Benfica players have returned for pre-season, and despite Jota still posted missing at Celtic, he’s not in Portugal with his parent club.

The Portuguese club posted photos from their training session, and Jota was nowhere to be seen.

This is great news for Celtic; if he’s not with the club for pre-season, the player must have a move lined up.

The Atmosphere Hasn’t Changed

Jota has seemed relaxed all summer, not giving off the vibe that he has an uncertain future ahead of him.

He’s had a long holiday. Starting with his Celtic teammates, he’s visited a few countries before returning to Portugal. Hopefully, he’ll be saying his goodbyes and collecting some things to bring to Glasgow with him.

Jota will likely miss training this week, with an announcement still to come. The next time the player trains with the club will probably be in Austria, as the Bhoys kick-start their preparations for the upcoming season.

  1. the Portuguese window doesn’t open until 1 July.

I’m confident that he will sign on Friday or Monday at the latest
